His work sent a clear message: Ohio will protect the innocent and hold offenders accountable.
On the bench, Justice Hawkins continued to lead with innovation and common sense. From cleaning up dangerous nuisance properties to restoring safety and dignity to neighborhoods, he paired firm enforcement of the law with solutions that strengthened communities. His service on the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas earned high ratings from the Columbus Bar Association and respect from law enforcement and civic leaders across the region.
In 2024, Ohioans affirmed their trust in Justice Hawkins with a historic victory nearly three million votes and a margin of more than 540,000 after he visited every county in the state, listening to citizens and earning their confidence. Now serving on the Ohio Supreme Court, he brings unmatched real-world experience, a tireless work ethic, and a deep respect for the rule of law. Justice Dan Hawkins understands that justice is not abstract it affects families, communities, and the future of our state.
