

A Legacy of Service and Dedication: Judge Thomas E. Harris for Re-Election
Judge Thomas E. Harris of the Ashtabula County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, has filed his petitions with the Ashtabula County Board of Elections to seek re-election to the position he has honorably held. A lifelong servant of the law and his community, Judge Harris embodies the principles of hard work, integrity, and dedication that define the very best of Ashtabula County.
With over 37 years of judicial experience, including more than 26 years as Judge of the Conneaut Municipal Court, Judge Harris has devoted his career to upholding justice and protecting the safety of our residents. Before his tenure on the bench, he served as Chief Assistant Prosecutor of Ashtabula County, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to fairness, accountability, and the rule of law.
Judge Harris has also contributed to the wider legal community, serving as a member of the Ohio Judicial Conference Executive Committee, past president of the Association of Municipal and County Court Judges of Ohio, and as an instructor for the Ohio Judicial College. His leadership extends beyond the courtroom, founding the “My Day in Court” program in Conneaut and actively participating in local initiatives including the Conneaut Rotary Club and the Ashtabula County Soap Box Derby.
A proud son of Jefferson, Ohio, Judge Harris attended local elementary schools and graduated from Jefferson Area High School. He is the son of the late Eugene and Carolyn Harris, and his roots in Ashtabula County have inspired a lifetime of service to its residents.
