With more than 35 years of legal experience, Edith Jonas has devoted her career to serving this community with integrity. A respected attorney in family and criminal law, she has seen the justice system from every side serving as a prosecutor, magistrate, public defender, and private attorney. That depth of experience gives her the wisdom and balanced judgment our Juvenile and Probate Court requires.

A graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, Jonas has spent her professional life ensuring that justice is not reserved for a few, but accessible to all regardless of background or circumstance. Her reputation for fairness, sound legal judgment, and respect for the rule of law has earned the trust of colleagues and community members alike.

Edith Jonas’s commitment goes beyond the courtroom. She has proudly served on the boards of Ashtabula County Residential Services, the Animal Protective League, the Law Library, the Bar Association, and United Way, where she was recently elected as a new board member. Her service reflects a deep belief that strong communities are built by people who show up and give back.

Her campaign is rooted in common-sense values: supporting law enforcement, working with parents and educators, and always putting the best interests of children and families first without compromising community safety.
